1. In the
Batyrevsky Region there are famous people who are widely known in Russia.

1) What do/did these famous people do? Make
up the sentences.

2) Who else can be included in the list of

3) What can you tell your foreign friends
about any of the famous people of the Batyrevsky Region?

a)Tabakov
A.P February 6, 1920 ,  a military
leader during the Great Patriotic War (1941- 1945), born in the village of
Batyrevo, the participant of the
Victory Parade in Moscow, in 1945, a completed
holder of the order of Glory

Tabakov A.P _ was a completed holder
of the order of Glory and an outstanding military leader. He
served his country best during the Great Patriotic War. __________________________

b.  V. Davydov-Anatry, December 26, 1917, the village of Pervomaysk,
worked in Chuvash book publishing house, «A Sateen shirt», «the
Small friends» are favourite books of children.

2. ROLE PLAY Foreign students who study
in Russian universities are often interested in the history of the region they
are living in.

PUPIL 1. You
are a foreign student who has come to Batyrevo to study at the Batyrevsky State University. You are to make a report Famous people of the Batyrevsky Region.
Ask your new friends about the famous people of the Batyrevsky Region.

PUPIL 2. You
live in Batyrevo. Answer the questions of your new foreign friend about the
famous people of the Batyrevsky Region.

3. Read the article about the famous people
of the Batyrevsky Region. Fill in the table using the information from the
article and presentation).

The main treasure of Batyrevo is its
people, who love their land.

Tabakov A.P was an outstanding military
leader. He was born in the village of Batyrevo in 1920  in the family of a
peasant. He served his country best during the Great Patriotic War (1941- 1945).
The name of a completed holder of the order of Glory is well-known in the Russian Federation. He was the participant of the
Victory Parade in Moscow, in 1945.There is a street named after Tabakov in
Batyrevo.

Ludmila Alexandrovna Sorokina is a talented
poet. She works as a teacher of the Chuvash language in the Batyrevsky
secondary school №1. She has written many children’s verses in the Chuvash language and has issued some books with the poems. She devotes her poems to the
dearest in her life – for children.

TAZETDINOV Minseit TIMERGALIEVICH
is an outstanding sportsmen in Greco-Roman wrestling, who glorified
our country. He was born in 1960 in the village of Chkalovskoye.  He is a World
Cup champion (1984), a many times champion of Europe and Russia in wrestling.

Golovin Anatoly Aleksandrovich  is an inventor.
He was born in Tat-Ugelevo in1949. The main creation of Golovin is the famous
agricultural technics. His works can be seen in different regions of the Russian
Federation.

Sitova Valentine Petrovna is a prominent
actor of the Chuvash Republic. She was born in 1960 in the village of
Maloye Batyrevo. She was awarded with state
premium of the Russian Federation in 2004.
